Affordable ecotourism! Sustainable lodging accommodations since 1986. The Real Green. NOW we have individual rooms as well as our cottages and apartments, and the capacity for large groups, even a large yoga/dance/meditation studio.
Our B&B is in a very quiet, safe, residential neighborhood in south Maui where it only rains 15 inches per year. We are only a 5-minute drive to the closest beach (Keawakapu Beach) and a 5-minute drive to the most beautiful outdoor world-class shopping mall in Maui (The Shops at Wailea).
One of the obvious benefits of vacationing during the 4th of July is the opportunity to capture a skyline with fireworks. The downside, as you would also know, flocks of people. Getting to downtown Honolulu was much too troublesome for our plans so we found this cool barge at the end of Kuhio Beach. This was a tricky image to capture because I wanted to expose it long enough to get the cloud blur I was looking for and I knew in the process I would have to sacrifice a little detail in the fireworks. But believe it or not, the clouds were more important to me. It just so happens while this nearly 40 second exposure was occurring some of the brightest and most vivid fireworks were going off. My favorite part of this image actually is looking at all the lights on in the resorts and wondering how their view looks or does not look. Thanks for checking this out. Enjoy!
